Arthur Brooks, Harvard happiness guru: “To know if you have found meaning in your life you have to be able to answer these 2 questions”.

According to the Harvard professor, too many people fail to reach a state of remarkable happiness because they don't know if they have found meaning in their lives.
Harvard professor Arthur Brooks asserts that happiness is the product of a combination of three phenomena: enjoyment, satisfaction and meaning. If any one of these ingredients is missing, we cannot achieve a state of joyful happiness. Thus, we must strive to enjoy life, feel satisfied with the experiences we have throughout our existence and find the vital meaning of our existence if we want to be happy.
Most people don't usually find obstacles to enjoying life or being satisfied with the experiences they have, but finding meaning in life is another matter. “We are in a total crisis, and this is the number one problem I see among young people, millennials and generation Z. I see it every day. I see it every day. To know if you have found meaning in your life you have to be able to answer two questions.”
THE TWO VITAL QUESTIONS YOU NEED TO ANSWER
The questions to which the Harvard University expert refers are: why are you alive, i.e., what reason is there to justify your existence and, secondly, why would you be willing to give your life right now? “These are two indispensable questions that you have to be able to answer, but the problem is that many people can't answer them,” explains Arthur Brooks. “Why am I alive? I don't know. Because of a biological question, because there was an egg and a sperm. Biologically, it's correct, but it doesn't make sense,” says the expert, recalling the answers he received in class.
If you stop to try to answer these questions you will see that it is not a simple task in the sense that it can be solved in a moment. Finding meaning in your life requires some reflection, understanding that things happen for a reason, finding out why it is important for us to live and what is the path to follow, that is, your purpose. “Many people think that meaning and purpose are the same thing, but they are not. Purpose is the direction and challenges your life has. To find meaning in life you have to look for coherence, meaning and purpose,” says Arthur Brooks. With these in your possession, you can answer the 2 questions posed by the Harvard professor.
